The University had its Tenth convocation on Thursday, 26th March, 2015 at the campus. Vice President of India Mr. Hamid Ansari consented to be the chief guest and to deliver the convocation address on this solemn occasion. Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, and Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia were guests of honour. The ceremony was presided over by the hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi as a chancellor of University.

During the convocation ceremony the certificates and medals were conferred upon the Ph.d scholars, Gold medalist students have successfully completed the requirement of the programme.
While addressing the 10th convocation Mr. Kejriwal said his government would render all the possible assistance to educational institutions and ensure that they make a meaningful contribution to the society. He said education was the “top most priority” of the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in the capital.

The Chief Minister said he had given the Indraprastha University vice –chancellor a “blank cheque” and asked him to formulate a plan of action for making the institution one of the top universites of the world. He asked the varsity to approach the government.

Mr. Ansari said the country’s higher education system continued to have a limited research capacity, which was reflected in the standing of universities in global rankings. He said “No Indian universities figured among the top 200 universities in the Times Higher Education Rankings of the World Universities”.
